If Gruden is our guy and the only reason that they haven't announced a change is to save him the sh#tstorm that would occur after the announcement, then I don't see how it's in our interest to get rid of Dooley at this point.

The chance of pissing off Gruden by announcing Dooley's firing, is not a chance I'd be willing to make.
