The Official Tennessee vs. South Carolina Game Thread, 6:30 pm ET, SEC Network

Since when are preseason predictions dictated on overall winning percentage, new formula?

That's how it's laid out on warren Nolan's site. You know more than him.
Go back to stuffing mailboxes. Are you the reason my mail is always late?

Seriously?

Answer this--looking at the schedule preseason what would you have predicted their record to be up to this point?
You're the one saying their ahead of schedule. Dodging the question?
Oh yeah, you always thought they'd finish 13th. I'm the ogre because I thought they had a chance for an NIT run.
Seriously?

Seriously?

I'm not dodging it. I'm asking you where you thought they would be at this point in the season because I felt they would be no better than 6-10, so 8-8 is exceeding expectations.

If you say you felt they would be .500 at this point then you are flat out lying. They have played a brutal schedule to this point and have played well. You were on board until this last game. What changed?

Oh yeah.. Mostella got kicked off the team so all of a sudden Barnes can't coach.

Do you not think that Mostella (a key player) getting dismissed the day before a game can effect the psyche of a team?

They adjusted well enough without Fulk (which is another huge blow), and Barnes will adjust without Mostella. It's been one game. Get off the ledge.

So, you are lowering your number? Didn't you say 16 wins before the season started?

Even if he did is not fair to adjust the number after losing Mostella?

I won't include Fulk because no one had seen him play, nor did they expect much from him.

Barnes said it had no effect. I'd rather he owned it. At least a little.

So losing Mostella had no effect on the game last night. Make up your mind.

My mind is made up. I said it did, and Barnes said it didn't.

He's a coach and I'm a fan if you can't understand the difference then I can't help you.

You still haven't answered my question about what you thought their record would be up to this point?

I don't need your help bro.
I thought 6-10, but I'm looking to the future.
Barnes acted last night like losing the kid wasn't a problem. chose rather to say, he wouldn't have helped.
You're down 10 points, a decent perimeter shooter and a spark off the bench.
Admiral was suspended for what? Barnes says Mostella was warned. why wasn't he suspended in August or september.
Something is fishy.
Swallow the homer mash if you want to.

Heard his most recent piss in the cup test was positive again.:mf_surrender:

6-10, so they are exceeding expectations to this point.

How am I being a homer? If anything I'm being the opposite by not thinking UT is supposed to be making a tourney run because they beat TAMU.

keyword 'again'.
If everything that's been reported is true, Barnes let a pot smokin gun totin, famine or feast player get away with a couple of warnings.
Admiral was suspended for what?
Just doesn't add up.

I would say that he gave him enough rope to hang himself!!:banghead2:

They're the last of the 1-3 teams when overall winning percentage is factored in. All of the stat sites list it like that.
They're listed as 13th.
They were predicted to finish 13th, that's where they are.
I even said they've won 2 I thought they'd lose. what do you want?
How are they exceeding? Do they have to finish 14th to satisfy whatever you are arguing?

Just a question that I have no idea about! Does the athletic department have a set rule on number of positive test one can have before dismissal. If it does I would assume no coach could override that policy, right.

Once again. That's convenient.

You claim that CRB's actions don't add up yet you don't have the facts on Schofield or on Mostella. You don't know how they reacted to Barnes when he addressed their issues. You don't know what their attitudes where. You don't know if Mostella was caught lying to Barnes. You don't even know why Schofield was suspended. But you are convinced that Barnes has mishandled how he has handed out punishment. How convenient.

Just guessing, but I would venture an already irrational Mostella was offered an indefinite suspension and threw it back in Barnes face.

Just doesn't figure that 3 previous encounters didn't warrant a suspension. Just doesn't make any sense when weighed against the Admiral suspension.
Beating a dead horse I know. But I'm about give out.

Sorry to throw this thread off topic, but I am a long time lurker on Volnation, UT grad, and UT Football victim. Since I have not posted on this site I am not able to create a post and im hoping for a little help from Volnation.

I currently hold a position that helps put together the INFINITI Coaches Charity Challenge on espn.com/infiniti. The ICCC is a round by round challenge where 48 Coaches compete for votes. They can advance up to 4 rounds, where each round they are able to make more and more money for the charity of their choice. Rick Barnes is currently competing for the Emerald Youth Foundation

The past 2 years I have seen coach Barnes see little to no love (Right now he is at 0% of the votes). All I ask is for 1. All of Volnation to go out and Vote! 2. One of the more seasoned members create a thread to get the awareness out!!

Thank you guys and Go Vols!!!

Not sure, possibly, I also didn't expect Mostella to get booted, Bone to miss 1/3 of the season and Fulk almost the whole year. I'm not saying 14 is what I expected, a Calban is saying he expected 12 wins and I'm saying I think that's still very much in range, you don't see that?
