Hilarious the folks that think this is acceptable and calling out so-called "nega-vols" for being upset with the garbage we just watched. I am not sure what game you are watching, but I saw a team that basically had zero fire or pep in it for three quarters, a staff who reverted back to calling safe, run up the middle, hope we can hold the lead and run out the clock plays, a staff who made zero adjustments at half and ran directly up the middle or sideways, and a QB who fumbled the ball at least 2 times, had no sense of urgency and a team of players who mostly dropped key passes and couldn't cover my 87yr old grandmother.... SC deserved this win and we didn't. Plain and simple. They wanted it and our players and staff acted and played like they didn't. Unless something changes and we play and coach like this the remainder of the season, we will lose at least 1-2 more games. If this type of play and coaching at home is OK, just as long as we can punch the ball out on the last play and win that way, then call me a Nega-vol all day. This team is way better than this and its just sad.

I agree with you in that this team is way better than it played tonight.But every team has a bad game tonight was ours and we won.We do get conservative with leaDs though.Way to much up the middle runs.

In fairness, it can rightly be claimed it was simply our defense making a clutch play at the end. In reality we did. Shouldn't have been this close, but the defense DID make a play to cause the fumble.

Sadly, I must admit I completely understand this sentiment and adhere to the same thought. In fact, after a loss I don't read the Sunday paper either......

However, Hyams and Tim Irwin's Sunday morning show is much more entertaining after a loss. I think some of the morons have been on hold overnight to give their opinions.

I'll take this win. SC is playing much better football. Our main issue is "in game adjustments." Mainly our OF coordinator. How many passes to the sideline can you throw. Do you really think SC would of punted if they knew we would play aggressively for a first down? Dobbs is throwing much better down field. Too many weapons not to use them.

Just for my benefit I'm consulting the experts here. Was it better that we won or would it have been better to lose? I'm very confused. We played like crap and got out. Thats not something we have been able to say in a while. Plenty of great teams lose ugly games to inferior teams. It helps us get better.

As Vol fans of course we're happy to get the W...but those of concerned about end of game play calling and strategy are still concerned. It was "play not to lose". No way around that.

But winning sure feels better than losing. Relief more than anything else after this one.

uscJR made adjustments which took the run away. They forced Dobbs to win the game with his arm and he at least got enough done through the air to hold onto the win.
