Bleed, lets have a recap. Didnt get to watch. Saw early that Jordy had 15 on 6-6 shooting.
Lets hear some recaps guys.
Lanky's recap of the players:
1. Bowden played amazing. Lights out shooting, great defense, caused a bunch of turnovers, several great passes including a wicked alley-oop to Alexander.
2. Williams and Schofield were both hitting post shots, jumpers, and layups like nobody's business. Same ol' same ol'.
3. Alexander looked like most improved player from last year. Caught some decently difficult rebounds and passes. Good finishing around the rim and rebounding in general.
4. Daniel looked in control all game. Has better decision making than Bone but is worse at defense. Bone had an ugly transition miss (may have been fouled).
5 Bench guys -
Fulk looked less rusty than before, finished some layups, but missed a tomahawk dunk.
Turner still looks slow on defense to me and takes too many gambles - was good at shooting, had an ok-decent game.
Pons rolled his ankle before the second half so wasn't much to look at.
Darrington looked pretty good at defense, moved his feet well, showed an ability to finish at the rim - nice player.
Jalen Johnson looked really rusty but made a cool layup.
Kent looked decent but still needs more time. Made a cool turnaround jumper.
Walker looked good, great finishing at the rim, but needs to control fouls.
6. Player of the game is a toss up between Bowden, Williams, and Schofield, in my opinion. I would pick Bowden since he got us off on the right foot and broke the game wide open.
Lanky's game recap:
Handled a team we should beat, hard to draw too much from this game. On offense, we were dangerous on post-ups with Williams, Schofield, and Walker, and we let them go to work. We were also on fire from three (mostly open looks). Took good shots pretty much all game. On defense, we were tipping passes all game and created a ton of turnovers. Presbyterian missed some open 3s, but I thought they did not get many open looks. We did fairly well in transition. Game was called pretty tight by the refs but was fine. Result was never close to in doubt, had a few stretches of Presbyterian not scoring for a long time due to our defense.
Hope that helps a bit. Still looking forward to BTO's recap.
