If this game could stay close, even if Tennessee loses it could be the first legitimately competitive game we’ve seen in a while. As long as the team passes my eye test for being competitive I’ll be okay with giving the staff more time to get the program back to challenging for championships.

Think about it. Tennessee was RIGHT THERE to score two more touchdowns — so close! Sure, the freshman QB’s judgement was off and he threw passes he shouldn’t have, but this time next season he’ll be able to better discern when he should and shouldn’t try to get the ball to a receiver getting covered pretty well.

He’ll learn that! I’m feeling great about that!
