The Official Tennessee vs. Michigan Game Thread, 7:15 pm ET(03/28/14), CBS

The play was set up, Stokes to McRae for the win was there. Go back and watch, McRae was wide open down the lane and Stokes was about to pass it before that horrendous call. It was actually a good play call with a bad result.

This. Still a bad call by the ref. You don't make that tacky of a call to decide the game.
Hurts!

Great half by the Vols except for last 10 seconds. I have no issue with the charge call. Stokes lowered his shoulder. Gotta call that. Thompson made mistake not fouling. I really was hoping they'd hold they ball during the Stokes possession and shoot at the buzzer to give us that instant win/lose moment.

:good!:

I like the play. Stokes was likely to either score, draw a foul, or find an open man. Unfortunately, the ref made a piss poor call:banghead2:.

You like putting Stokes in a position he has not been in all game, your power forward 18 feet from goal and rely on him to drive to basket?

Didn't like going to Stokes on the inbound. Should have gone with Mcrae or Richardson on the drive to the basket.

It looked like Stokes was about to kick it out to McRae coming down the lane, but it didn't work out that way. Those last few seconds we should have fouled and not tried for the steal. Could have saved enough time to get back down the court. Great run we had, now it's time for football!

We got screwed on the call--but going to stokes was STUPID. we didn't even look for mcrae or richardson. Total idiocy. you throw it to a wing who can dribble.

watch the replay. McRae was wide open at the top of the key for Stokes to pass to.

Dont be an ass. All I was saying is that I'm not sure that was necessarily option 1. He may have just flashed open on the block.

I'm pretty sure that was the design. I saw no other action to lead me to believe there was any other. Poor design, but then again, that isn't Zo's strength.

That was about the worst inbound play Zo could have called. Either Jordy or Richardson should have gotten the ball and driven to the basket with Maymon and Stokes down low to clean up. Ridiculous. Zo's in game coaching leaves a lot to be desired.

If we would have went to Jordy or Rich our last shot would have been a pull-up jumper (probably missed)...i like the decision to get it inside to Stokes. High percentage scoring...only blame in this game is on the refs.

On that last play...OTOH, I have seen us struggle to get the ball in at all, and he was wide open, and there were 9 seconds.

I think his decision to drive was questionable. He was double teamed, which means someone else is open somewhere. The color guy said that McRae was hanging out near the key...that would have been a great option.

I also think the call was questionable, but IMO Stokes should have passed in that situation.

Would not have happened. Ball got knocked out of Stokes hands put of bounds if the foul had not been called
