The Official Tennessee vs. #4 Alabama Game Thread, 7:30pm ET, ESPN2

I'm extremely pleased yet pissed off at the same time...

Pissed because our defense laid a damn egg in the first quarter which ultimately lost us the game, that we keep giving Peterman opportunity after opportunity and yet he NEVER produces, and that we burnt Dobbs redshirt because of Peterman sucking.

I'm extremely pleased because Dobbs looked fantastic tonight compared to how we've played recently, the O-Line only gave up 1-2 sacks, the Vols fought the entire game, and we put up 180+ rushing yards against ALABAMA.

Stats for thought:

Dak Prescott against KY: 18 for 33, 216 yards. 1 TD, 1 pick

Josh Dobbs against Bama: 19 for 32, 192 yards, 2 TD, 1 pick

Does this mean that Dobbs is a Heisman frontrunner?

More straw man BS. I should have chosen Cassandra as my username. What's that going over your head you ask? Oh nothing, just that reference.

No....it's not strawman BS.....

If you've ever actually been on the field and in a war with a team that is physically better than you, and has more talent than you....and you've been down 27-0 at one point and get an opportunity to score to make it 27-10.....and can go into the house at the half with a score instead of being denied on a 4th and short---you would understand why your post was so STUPID and why I posted what I did......the ONLY thing flying over ANYONE'S head here is your lack of perspective that stems from NEVER being on the field!

Also....When you are still down by 2 scores in the 4th QTR....Hope springs eternal in your mind, especially as a D....a turnover can happen, a punt return, it makes you keep playing harder when you believe if you get a stop and the O can score....you get re-energized mentally and actually BELIEVE that you can WIN.....

2 FGs KEEP HOPE ALIVE, and being down 34-20 in the 4th QTR is much better then being down 34-10--like we were against OK in Norman....

here endeth the lesson, Jr......:salute:

by the way....when's the last time we played Bama to a 14 point game? 2006???

Dobbs showed me more tonight than I thought he ever would. We can keep defenses honest now that we're not trying to force a square peg in Worley in the round hole that is our offense.

What's your response to Brock Huard, a former NFL QB who agreed with me?

Your interpretation. I say his momentum was never stopped and he clearly ran out of bounds.

It's not my interpretation that matters; the officials marked it as such and ruled he was knocked out of bounds behind the point of progress.

Didn't we play Alabama to a 2 point game (14-12) in 2009?

Win lose or draw I'll always be proud to say I'm a Tennessee Vol. Tonight was great. Looked like we had an o-line and an offense. The defense struggled early, but didn't give up, and they only scored 2 more times. Better days are ahead.

I have to be honest though, I did play football for about 3 practices at the age of 11 before realizing I was born to contribute with my brain rather than my body.

That just proves how wrong you are....that another idiot agreed with you, a homer who kept praising and sucking up to Bama the entire game.....

And that's why he's calling an ESPN2 game instead of coaching somewhere.....

You can get any idiot to agree with you....that just proves that there are idiots who all agree together...

Face it...after the 1st QTR we outscored Bama 20-7....and were in striking distance at 27-13 if our D could have gotten a stop.....but Bama drove the field and controlled the ball and scored a TD when it mattered.....

our LACK of a quality OC showed up again with that stupid Beast package of AJ.....and the ultimate difference in the game was the bama OC being smart enough to get the ball to his playmakers by creating ideal matchups against our "weak sisters" on defense....Our OC doesn't even know enough to realize what a bootleg is and just how effective it can be in the red zone.....

That's just depth....but if our D could've stopped 'em and we would have scored a TD.....those FGs (being sure points) would've been huge......

thanks for the reminder.....and WHO was calling the plays in that game...with Jonathan Crompton and 2 walk-on OL who weighed 265 lbs soaking wet.....

We can all hate the LAME KITTEN....and he did indeed have some stupid games calling plays for us (UCLA)--but the dude is so far ahead of any guy on our offensive staff right now that it's just extremely sad.....:salute:

Cooper broke the receiving yardage record set by Julio Jones, who had 221 yards receiving in a 41-10 victory over Tennessee in 2010.

Whys it always got to be against us?

Maybe Butch Jones was trying to shoot some life into his career by redshirting the best QB on his squad, so that his year 3 (and 4,5,6...) would be as impressive as he has been at his other jobs.

Or he is a nutcase because he had our best QB benched the entire year.
