I've been surprised for two years at how conservative Butch is--but it's true that we did NOTHING offensively in the first half. OL can't block anybody, no running yardage. Basically, we had a coupla passes to Pig and a few swing passes to Hurd. Got to do better. Why not run Dobbs on a sweep or two--try to get him outside. Throw over the middle more. Man, getting a TD early in the 3rd quarter would be huge.

The "what if" worked in our favor and we should have tried to use it. At least take a shot with Von deep and if he can't get under it, then run the clock.

Getting the ball back for the second half helped his decision. Not sure he makes the same decision if Mizzou got the ball first.

He would not have. We needed to go in with momentum. That would have been the prudent call, playing for a fg if we were not getting the ball in second half. Plus he knows we are getting a key cog in the secondary during the second half.
