So a more talented defense won’t help this team?
That isn’t entirely the issue because of what happens when the offense has games like this, either, though. An unfortunate risk of running a lot of always hurry up, no huddle offense is that when your offense is not regularly sustaining drives for more than 3-5 plays, the defense starts getting about only a minute or so of rest between drives and they can start getting gassed real early.
And those types of offensive drives were pretty much most of Tennessee’s first half (like 5 out of 7 first half drives).
