The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Wouldn’t say Davis was a bust. Actually would take him back right now.

Top 5 selection at WR? He has never topped 1,000 yards in a season. Most certainly a bust.

So many in here completely ignoring draft value. Where you select and pay matters in evaluating these choices.

Mood would be much different here if we had drafted Levis from Penn State or really any school outside of the SEC. He was such a meme here for 2+ years that it's almost impossible for people to be objective about him. I understand the derision--I don't love the pick either. But I think there's value in where the Titans got him. He's far from a guaranteed success but he's also not a guaranteed bust. Fact is, Titans need a QB for the 2024 season. Tannehill has one more year and then he's out. And Willis is trash. So the options outside of Levis were try and draft a rookie in 2024 (which would almost certainly require trading up significantly to get anyone worthwhile) who has to start immediately or go after some also-ran washed-up FA.

The NFL draft is kind having $100, $50, $20, $10, $5, $1 bills in your billfold.

If you go to Taco Bell and get the super dupper extra everything burrito for the $100 bill, that a bad move. Even though it may be delicious, it is bad value for the money.

Lol based on what exactly? Where do you get this false consensus? The consensus was that he was a first round prospect.

The media hyped him as a top 5 player in this draft. The media. Not the teams, not the coaches, not the front offices, not the fans…. Is the controversy here that the media may have an agenda that doesn’t match reality?

Some people listen to my scouting reports. Some people despise me lol.

In regards to Titans fans knowing what's good for them: I wouldn't put much stock in their opinions . They were screaming and booing with the Chris Johnson pick out of ECU. I tried to tell many people that was a good pick watch and see. I was correct.

WITH THAT SAID, this Will Levi's pick is their worst pick in franchise history.
Guy is no leader. He's not particularly natural out there either. He is a turnover waiting to happen.

The CJ2K slander on draft day was amazing

Lol conspiracy? Plenty of scouts thought he was a first round talent. That’s why he went at the top of the second. Not because of some strange conspiracy theory about “the medias agenda”

Tennessee could have drafted wideout or tight end, ranked in 2024, and gave a top 5 pick next year. On the flip side, we could have drafted wideout or tight end at 2, traded up to get a wideout before #81, and be 1-2 more offensive lineman in the draft away from being a competitive team. This notion we were forced to take a QB this draft is hilarious. It’s not as hilarious as folks (not you directly) thinking Levis is a franchise QB

If front offices and coaches and owners thought he was a Top 5 player, he wouldn’t have slid past the first night. The fact he slid that far shows what anyone who’s watched one minute of his playing time the last two years….

This is just as bad as drafting Malik last year. Ran has shown it’s abundant clear he’s a first time GM….

Notice how quiet it is from the same folks who hyped him that there have been zero reports of who the Titans were competing against to get him? If Hooker dropped that far, no telling how far Levis would have dropped and this ain’t some bashing Levis to praise hooker either. Trading up to take QB was absolutely the worst move we could have made there.

Now we go into the season with 3 QB’s, 4 RB’s, and 1.5 WR’s/TE 😂😂😂😂😂

Great GM’ing!

Breaking news:

Dallas Cowboys have traded CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and their remaining four 2023 draft picks to Tennessee Titans for Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis, and King Henry.

Sorry but RT does not have near the mobility as Levis, especially not at the age he is now.

I actually think the RB pick is much more of a head scratcher than Levis. How long is a RB with no ACL going to be able to play?
I guess what I mean about Levis is that he was picked because he fits the offense we run. All the talk about Tannehill over the last three-ish years was “man he’s great when he runs the offense and the play action game works.”
So it’s pretty clear they want Levis to fit the same mold, which is fine and can result in a ton of games won… I’d just rather be bad in 2023 and have the opportunity next year to grab a QB that can give you more.

That entire Kentucky team underachieved in ‘22. Four offensive coordinators in four years. We all watched the Dooley/Butch/Pruitt years and know what instability does to otherwise good players.

Levis ain’t ever gonna be Mahomes. He’s not Josh Allen. But he can be good if the Titans commit to him being good.

The problem is he’s inaccurate and inefficient with the football.

Even Vrabel tried to let the completion percentage downplay by mentioning thr 30-40 drops he’s had the last two years. Such a good thing we have a deep and quality receiving group…… oh wait 😂😂😂😂

Can’t fix a habitually inaccurate QB in the NFL with a sticks and glue group of receivers. It would be one thing if we had AJ Brown and Burks…. But we have Burks and Cody Hollister 😂😂😂😂

The notion that tanking is the solution is hilarious. Good luck intentionally tanking a roster that's got 7-9 wins in them. Not like that's gonna cause roster or locker room issues or anything. Do you think Vrabel and Ran would just go into the locker room and tell everyone to get ready to lose so they can get a better draft pick?

75% adjusted completion % is not “inaccurate”

I’m down to start Levis and hope for Marvin Harrison Jr at the top of the draft next season.

This roster is really bad where it counts. Cornerback, WR, Edge, OT. Cornerback and WR we may be the worst in the league at.

Prove he’s inaccurate. His completion % overall doesn’t support that but maybe you have more on this.

Poor decisions or forcing throws, most certainly a fair criticism.

That’s literally how ranking has worked in the nfl the last 20 years. The sad part is we have wasted 2 picks on positions we don’t have immediate needs for when we could have taken 2 positions of glaring need and gotten immediate production. Not a consecutive year of drafting a clipboard holder who gives us zero value/production.
