That’s the point. He said the NFL did it every year
Yea. Technically the Skins are still in it. Beat the Titans (I don’t think the Skins will win) and it’ll make week 17 interestingWell I goofed there, didn’t I? I really think it depends on what happens this weekend. Last year, SNF was New Year’s Eve and there wasn’t a single game that didn’t depend on the outcome of other games. If (and I think it’s a big if) Baltimore and Pittsburgh both win this weekend, the AFC will have the same situation again and there may not be a SNF game. If either of those teams lose and Titans & Colts both win (more likely), then the Titans/Colts game will determine the last AFC spot and I think they would flex it. I didn’t look at NFC because I think there’s still like 5 teams that have a chance at the 6th seed and none seem to want it.
They did have a late game up until last year. IIRC, I guess a team made a complaint that they got less rest from the late game in regards to the playoffs.
All games with playoff implications were moved to a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, with no change in network assignment. This included the following games: Bengals–Ravens, Bills–Dolphins, Jaguars–Titans, Panthers–Falcons, and Saints–Buccaneers. Additionally, no Sunday Night Football game was scheduled, marking the first time since the 1977 NFL season that the regular season play concluded with no primetime game. The NFL stated that it did not want to schedule a primetime game that could potentially lose its playoff implications due to the events of the afternoon games.
