The Official Tennessee Titans Thread III

Jacoby Jones toured the facilities a couple of days ago. With both Jones and Ginn having visited does that mean the Titans are finished with Leon Washington?

Harry Douglas visiting today. Which makes no sense to me, because both he and Wright are best as slot receivers.

Kendall & Jhunt will have a fantastic year. Just need one for quality receiver. I like Jacoby better the Ted Ginn.

This team... yeesh. I was happy we got Wisenhunt but last year was an experience. A bad one.

Hopefully we can get the pieces Wisenhunt needs and we'll be more successful down the line. It's a sobering thought if the Cardinals were only any good because of Warner. I mean, it's not like they had a good record that year or anything when they went to the Super Bowl. Let's get Wisenhunt a QB and find out, I guess. If only Peyton had chosen us...

Curious...

Since the conclusion by analysts seems to be that Winston is a big time prospect that's NFL ready and I've seen him compared to being similar to Luck as far as his potential and NFL readiness. If true, that means the Bucs will probably roll the dice on him to keep him in Florida and we have the choice of Mariotta. My question is, what would you trade him for? Chip Kelly and the Eagles really want him per speculation. Would Nick Foles, Eagles 1st '15 and Eagles 1st '16 be enough or too much? Remember when Ditka traded every single pick of the draft for Ricky Williams? I think he might have traded a future pick(s) too. What's Mariotta's value in a trade with the Eagles?

Edit: On top of trading all 7 picks of the draft for Ricky Williams, Ditka also trade a future 1st...

Let's try to milk the Eagles for Mariotta. And if we can't, keep him? It's a plan.

In my opinion the Titans should trade down and pick up two picks in the first round. Get Beasley and fowler, then get a safety or cornerback. In the 2nd round.

Retool the online and tight end position after that with athletic guys.

Pick up a d tackle and a big wide receiver in free agency.

I would be pumped with that.

I think Fowler and Beasley will go either to the Bears or Falcons. The Titans might be better of taking Mariotta because I don't think Chicago or Atlanta would trade spots with them right now.

What does everyone think of Ryan Mallett and Kellen Moore?

I've always been curious to see what they could do at this level but they were always behind Brady and Stafford. I liked both coming out of college. I'd gladly roll the dice on both to compete with Mettenberger if we don't do much of anything with the QB situation. Or if we want a little bit of experience under their belt, Christian Ponder. The free agent list I'm looking at has Mark Sanchez and Jake Locker as the #1 and #2 QB's... yuck. I didn't like Locker's ability coming out of college but I did see some flashes from him on the Titans. He's always hurt though and is inconsistent. Part of me would be okay with him staying on cheap since he has a year in the system and he can even compete for the starting job if he's good enough to get it but I'm done relying on him being our guy and pushing him to be a starter for the Titans. It just hasn't worked out.

And Ted Ginn gives us a capable return man. Idk the last time I was impressed by our return game.

I agree with the other poster, I'd rather have Jacoby than Ginn. They're both upgrades though and Douglas would be for depth. There's nothing wrong with those signings IMO (except that like I said, Douglas is kinda redundant unless Wright gets hurt).

Mallett is intriguing but I think Houston will keep him. I'm not really high on Kellen Moore. I agree that Locker could be a capable backup, but it would be awkward to keep him here backing up his replacement, which is why you don't see that happen too much (aside from last year in Minnesota).

I like Mallet too, but I thought he was with NE last year not Houston? I could be wrong.
