For those that are critical of Whiz's performance at AZ, consider this-

Of the 4 teams in the AFC/NFC championships, 3 of the head coaches were previously fired from head coaching positions with other NFL teams:

Bill Belichick - fired by the Browns after 5 seasons and a 36-44 record
Pete Carroll - fired twice (One season with the Jets, three seasons with the Patriots) and a 33-31 record in the regular season
John Fox - fired by the Panthers after 9 seasons and a 73-71 record

All three previously guided their old teams to the playoffs at least once. Fox previously had a loss in the Super Bowl.

What do they all have in common now? Great quarterbacks. Let's hope Whiz can do wonders with Jake.

So glad we got a coach who has proven he can coach in this league and not some coordinator with questionable success. I wish we could keep Williams as DC but not likely if we switch to 3-4. Hopefully my Cowboys will snatch Williams up quick if hes let go.

Williams has coached a 3-4 before.

So what do you guys think about the shift to the 3-4? We have some nice tools to work with but we need to get bigger up front and upgrade our line backing corp quickly. First thing I'd do is re-sign both Ropati Pitoitua and Antonio Johnson to cheap deals. Next I'd talk to Kamerion Wimbley to see if he would be willing to redo his deal in order to stay, in the past he has been a good OLB in the 34 and I never understood why we asked him to convert to a 43 defensive end. The question now is do we use our #1 pick on a true nose tackle (Louis Nix) or continue upgrading the LBer corp and add my favorite prospect in Khalil Mack who adds a pass rush from the edge?

Also just looking at some defensive free agents there is some nice talent coming from 3-4 teams. I'd take a look at some of the following guys;

DE
Antonio Smith (Houston)
Tyson Jackson (Kansas City)
Brett Keisel (Pittsburgh, Old though, might sign him just for Da Beard)
Matt Shaughnessy (Arizona)

NT
B.J. Raji (Green Bay)
Terrence Cody (Baltimore)
Aubrayo Franklin (Indy)

LB
Brian Orakpo (Washington, doubt they let him walk)
Donald Butler (San Diego, Whiz knows him could he lure him away?)
Karlos Dansby (Arizona, older guy but would bring a veteran presence to the team. Also had a mini-career resurgence this year)
Brandon Spikes (New England, perfect run stopping LB who seems to be on the outs in NE)
Daryl Smith (Baltimore, after spending most his time in the AFC South w/Jags he put up his best season stats wise this year wit the Ravens. Also quarterbacked that defense this year.)

Let me add the cards made it to their only sb. Made the switch from Leinhart to Warner.

Can whunt be to the titans what Harbaugh is to the 49ers?
By that I mean a head coach that make them a very good or great team. Titans have talent on offense, defense, and special teams what's missing the right head coach to get the highest performance out of them.

We'll find out 2014 and the next several seasons.
I'm optimistic a better season in 2014 and years for the titans.

So titans beat a chargers team that finished with a winning record, one playoff win, made it to the playoffs, and only team to beat the broncos in Denver
Clearly a better team than I think many thought would be.

@PaulKuharskyNFL: Hearing John McNulty is just about a sure thing now as offensive coordinator for Whisenhunt. #Titans”

He did a good job mentoring Mike Glennon this season.

@Edwerderespn: Whisenhunt impressed with GM Ruston Webster as his partner, believes more control and influence with Titans than Lions cap a concern

@Edwerderespn 25m

Most coaches receive 4-year deal, but Titans gave Ken Whisenhunt more than that and guaranteed the contract

@RapSheet 9m

Strong choice for Whisenhunt’s DC: #Steelers LB coach Keith Butler, if PIT lets him go. Butler has lots of family in Nashville

PK also tweeted we gave him a million more than what he would have earned with Detroit.

This ain't your same old Bud Adams decision-making anymore

Browns granted permission for Ray Horton to interview for jobs, probably going to be the #1 target for our DC job.
