The Official Tennessee @ Missouri Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, SEC Network

Half time interview JH said he was disappointed how they finished. Sounds like he wanted the TD.

well sure he did

did you not read my full comment?

“I”…..just my opinion….think it didn’t work out because he chose to “slow” it down.

If he had kept things going “I” think they probably could have easily scored the TD.

I “think” he understands that as well……but there was no “need” to keep things going that quickly or to score quickly……or to even score a TD at all (there)…….and he slowed it down.

He would have loved to see them score the TD especially with them slowing it down…….you know to see how they handle things “differently”……like when they “need” to do things differently.

I think we havd a good coach finally. His recruiting ability will be the real test. But we have looked as bad as mo. Is today

Well...defensively not since Sunseri in 2012. But we did look that bad that year, for sure. Historically worst D since I think 1896, which is the same as saying worst D ever. I shudder thinking about that. Sometimes wonder if a bammer alum slipped Sunseri some money under the table to tank it.

But nah, I think he really just suxes that bad.

It’s a unique coaching challenge to get the team focused for this second half. It would be easy for the players to just think they can come out and walk through the motions. Interesting to see if we can maintain discipline and focus.

So what you are saying is that we have an offensive staff that can scheme/game plan around a defense's weakness? Last year's staff couldn't scheme around a peanut league team. I don't care how weak a team appears; the fact we can call plays and put our guy in a position to exploit that weakness is progress.

Who cares? It’s not like Mizzou has been world beaters the last few years, and they still have either beaten us or given us all we could handle. It’s nice to see Tennessee take care of business, to heck with whether Mizzou is good or not!
GBO!!

I wasn't saying not to take this as a good performance or not to enjoy the performance. Don't get me wrong, it looks good. But I've also been watching Missouri this year and it's been pretty much exactly this, each week for them when teams run the ball on them (which really baffles me why so many on the board were picking us to lose.).

I'm happy to see progress in a positive direction, but with how poor the team we're playing is - their defense has pretty much been average group of 5 level team bad, if not worse, all year - I'm not sure people should Missouri to constitute "leaps" better yet.

Its pretty obvious what a actual good and knowledgeable coach can do for a position group. D line is much better than we have had in long time. Couch Stripling was good but not near as good Garner.

Yea, I don’t miss Will Friend at all…the OL is playing better this year
