That "targeting" call is the worst call I've seen in years. That rule, when applied incorrectly, gets me going on rants worse than just about anything else. It's a PC call by a gutless official.

My personal opinion is they're "confirming" these calls because of all the backlash for the stupidity of still enforcing a call despite not ejecting players. They're trying to save face. How can a penalty be overturned (player not ejected) but the penalty yardage still stand? It's asinine the way it's written to begin with. Pull out the Velcro flags and put the pads down, rebate what it's becoming.

so u still get the 15 yard penalty but the player isnt ejected = u got it wrong!!!!!!!

should be no penalty no foul

this is the clearest case of bad flag and worse review

That is a stupid rule just like the fumble into the end zone and lose possession rule.
