The Official Tennessee @ Georgia Tech Game Thread, 7:00 pm ET, ESPNU

I have to wonder if the cut on Moore's shooting hand played a role. We have to find a way to get a little more rest for our scorers, but there is no doubt we are severely handicapped.

Rick Barnes is going to do something with this program, he just needs a year or 2 to start pulling recruits. Recruits want to play for prestigious coaches so he shouldnt have that hard of a time, recruiting so far has been pretty good.

But I say that to say this, I could see improvement in the team just from friday night to tonight. Could just be first game jitters but either way im excited for what this season holds. I hope we can slide into the NIT at the very least

GO VOLS!

From the way the staff was working on it on the sideline it seemed to be more than just a cut.

Just finished on DVR. FTs killed us. Got to have your PG make those FTs in the clutch; cramps or not.

I have been Negative tonight but how about that crowd tonight.

The orange fans were so dang loud on the tube.

Hats off to anyone that went

Good to hear. The GT crowd was pathetic. The place was half empty (it only holds 8,600 to begin with) and there were plenty of Vol fans all over the arena. Had a great time at the game, just wish we could have hit some FTs or gotten a better look at the end.

You guys were very clear with the Defense cheer late in the game

Hats off man and thanks for supporting the team

Armani should never bring the ball up the court. He bounces the ball so high and palms the ball while doing so. Literally scares me every time he touches the ball up court.

Going back to several comments in this thread, I find it repulsive that some are willing to post degradable insults about Coach Tyndall, while remaining anonymous. If those who do this are so brave, then I suggest that they identify themselves and show what they look like. That way, they would put themselves on an even playing field. If they are unwilling to do that, then there is only one word to describe them. That word would be "COWARD"!

Got to love the effort. Stayed in the game and had a chance to win it against a much bigger ga tech team.

DVR'd the game and haven't watched it yet. From what I read, it appeared that Moore and Punter didn't have their best game and got tired during the game. Barnes is going to have to play Schofield and Phillips if they want to win going forward IMO (even if it's for a few minutes) just to give Moore and Punter a breather.

I didn't expect to win this one but it stinks to have a chance and not come away with a road win. Missing free throws will kill you. Ga Tech was picked at the bottom of their conference like we were. We need to win these type of games on the road in the SEC if we're going to have a decent season.

I don't post anonymously and didn't say anything about Tyndall.
I do still think he's SLIME. What now?

GT was a great basketball school in the 90's leading up through an appearance in the NCAA championship game in 2004. From there, Paul Hewitt received a lifetime contract (literally) and proceeded to not care. Gregory came in around 2010 I think, but he has been terrible. GT expected him to get fired last year but GT can't afford to buy out another contract, and the AD promised him another season.

So to put it in perspective, imagine Dooley had been given a 4th year at UT. Think the crowds would have been pathetic for a game on a monday night? When your AD doesn't care about winning it is hard for the fans to care and show up.

Tyndall was a sleazeball. He can't coach. There is a reason he was a backup plan that was just gettting a shot at the big time. He was in over his head. We are way better now. Thankfully we have Barnes now.

Tyndall was a terrible coach and a POS person. Come at me, old man.

Good points. 'Pathetic' may have been a little strong. However, even if Dooley had been given a 4th year, there is no way Neyland would be at half capacity for an OOC game against a Power 5 school. That speaks to the Tennessee fanbase more than anything.
