Worried about UC running on Phillips. But if they can’t hit his speed then they can’t run the bases, I suppose
A team like Cincinnati will be able to hit his fastball. The real question is how well Marcus can throw his off-speed stuff to keep them guessing so that they can’t time up his FB. This was the scenario Doyle faced last night.

An interesting Vol nugget here: Cannon Peebles is hitting .339 since the Lipscomb game on April 22nd. This is a streak that includes 17 games, with 15 of those games being SEC opponents.

Also, we have some arms lined up for the rest of the regionals. In addition to Phillips, we have AJ, Arvidson, Snead, Franklin, Kuhns, Krenzel, etc. I feel really hopeful about the pitching we have lined up in the stalls. Some real horses, but I hope we absolutely mash the ball tonight.

Doyle going deep with a big lead was just what the doctor ordered.

Goal is always not to let the other team get on base..... Marcus has been good for at least one guy on base per inning. Hoping he has an excellent outing today
If he can get us through 4 innings and 2-3 times through the lineup, then I feel like we are in a good spot to turn it over to the pen.
4 innings has been his “danger zone” all season and anything over 4 is a plus.
We’ve got this guys, have fun and enjoy some postseason baseball!
GBO!!
