This couldn't have come for a worse time for Dooley. CDD is already on the hotseat in Tennessee. He has never beaten a top 25 team while they were in the top 25. Cincinnati ended up being ranked by the end of the year that Tennessee beat them. Dooley has his chance this week to silence some of the naysayers. This hip fracture could end up hurting more than just his hip. This could hurt his coaching future. A win this week will not save Dooley's job, but a loss will lose his job. There must be a lot of pain for him to decide that now is the time for him to have this surgery.

Actually it won't hurt or help... players have to execute. Dooley in the booth only gives negavols the ability to say Vols are better without him on the sideline after we win the game.
