I didn’t think about that, but you might be right. I’ve never seen someone overthrow receivers by that much, consistently. His passes land on a different continent.

Huepel may want to get his eyes checked too - Saying Milton was the best QB coming into the season was pretty much blind

That’s my only issue with Heupel so far. I just can’t believe all the signs weren’t there from the beginning. Good chance we would be sitting at 3-1 tonight if Hooker had been the starter.

Exactly.
If the Volunteers were getting demolished for the whole game then the game would be hot garbage.

Instead we were given a watchable entertaining 1st half before Florida showed why in the complete 2nd half that they were favored by 19.

this is from a ten year old book, the last I downloaded for searching rules... doubt it has changed...

This guy threw it up to late to do so and did not even give a good homecoming queen wave. Don't know how replay could not call that violation down while reviewing the targeting.

That rule is rarely enforced and the timing of the wave is not really stated clearly in the rule. To state that there should of been offsetting penalties is not a legitimate complaint. Plus we were out of challenges so I do not believe the fair catch signal would of been reviewed. The only time I have seen an illegal fair catch called is when the returner fields the ball and takes off running after the signal.

i see:

september: 2-2
october: 2-2, possibly 3-1
november: 3-1

pending Hooker stays healthy as well as key components. that's at best 8-4/ 7-5. i can live with that

We are depleted man. We have 2 offensive lineman out. We have defensive lineman out and line backers out. On top of only having 71 scholarship players. On top of being in an investigation. Fans like you are the reason why we can’t get our football program back to where it needs to be. Negative negative negative is all these coaches and players hear. Shut up or go pull for Vandy.

I agree that the fair-catch signal was inadequate, but it doesn't matter because he hit him before the ball got there. It was kick-catch interference either way. And since the targeting was called, it would've been a 15-yard penalty even if they'd decide it wasn't kick-catch interference at all.

Sure sure, let’s blame the guy that expects even the basics to be better. Not the guy who gets paid millions to do so. It doesent matter how many players you have not coaching fundamentals and having ridiculous amounts of penalty yards isn’t going to get them even close where they want to be.

you can look at this team and not see that we are leaps and bounds better than anything we’ve had in 4 years.

Oddly enough i would say depends. I would have pegged Georgia for that. Their style matches up better for us and historically in the last 20 years we have better odds of beating UGA. I also like its later on schedule. However the depends part comes with us having a depleted roster only 71 scholarship players. If we sustain injuries between now and then we will be in bad shape as we are very thin on offensive line and thats Georgia's strength is defensive line.

Others have posted this repeatedly but the issue was not hitting a player who had signaled for a fair catch, it was targeting. Whether a fair catch signal is given or not, the player has to be given an opportunity to catch the ball. Holiday launched himself, with the crown of the helmet directed at the UF player's head, before the ball got there. Watch Holiday's own reaction as soon as it happened -- he knew he'd made a huge mistake.

The unsportsmanlike call was on an entirely different player, William Mohan.

The fair catch signal, good bad or indifferent, was NOT the point of the call and in fact is entirely irrelevant to either penalty.
