How does it feel dude? I feel bad for all the UT fans that live and die with the football team. We are on pace to have a sub-Dooley season, which is pretty mind-blowing.

I actually feel kind of apathetic about the ordeal. I knew that it was going to be an ugly close game.

I don't even feel happy with the win, more of relief. This is a really bad UT team by UT standards. It's hard for me to get excited over beating a team that lost to us after we gave them 4 turnovers. In this case I view tonight more of a success because we avoided a possibly detrimental loss, rather than simply being a success because we won.

And it still blows my mind that this UK team was favored over UT. Absolutely mind-blowing to me. UT has fallen so far in such a short time.

Like I said on twitter, if Currie and The administration doesn’t care, I don’t either. My saturdays have freed up. Basketball is coming anyway..... by the way, if this is how Currie handles coaching situations, I hope to god Rick Barnes never leaves.

Shut up, you pull for Tennessee football when we’re good, so don’t run your mouth just because our dingleberry of a coach is dumber than a sack of rocks. Lol

I must really hate myself to cheer for a program that self sabotages more than any in the entire nation haha.

And trust me, Stoops is no better than Botch. They belong in the MAC.

You're really sticking it to them aren't ya Dallas lol. He's going to be fired sometime before the end of the season.

Maybe with Dallas' support the AD will make the move. I'd not want to piss off him. No stepladder would save them in that fight.

Honestly, our fanbase is overreacting to losing to Kentucky. We played well on offense despite our OL giving up big plays. Am I the only who saw improvement? Yes, I realize we are 0-5 in conference, but our young guys are getting better and last night showed it. Ty Chandler should have been getting way more touches, he’s a natural slasher. Guarantano is looking more comfortable. Our offense actually looked OK last night.

Also, random statement but I met Colton Jumper’s dad.. Nice guy.

Just bought tickets for the UNC game for me and my brothers birthday. Pretty excited.

We just lost to a team we had lost to once in 32 years. And it isn't because Kentucky suddenly got good. They are an average to slightly above average football team. They gifted us four turnovers and we still lost in year #5. How is anyone overreacting?

Improvement? We went almost 4 full games without an offensive TD. We had nowhere to go but up, especially since we played an average football team. The OLine still leaks like a sieve, the defense couldn't stop a predictable UK offense, and we are still woefully undisciplined.

I agree, Ty Chandler did look great, but more touches??? He had 24 touches, not including plays called back for penalty. That is more than a third of our offensive plays. And we weren't necessarily inept without him. Fils-Aime and Jordan both played well. We just are no threat in the passing game. Our QB holds the ball too long, and the offensive line can't consistently block for him.

I only saw token improvement that was to be expected playing a less talented opponent and the idea that we were bound to luck into some offensive scoring after so many possessions of ineptitude. We still sucked in the red zone in general and pissed away an opportunity at the 1 foot line.

Stoops has UK improving a little year after year. Butch is in year 5 and UT is the worst in the SEC outside Missouri.

Stoops > Butch

You’re acting like we had any reason to be any sort of threat to the SEC. We literally are an entirely different team than we were last year. We lost everyone. It doesn’t help when your neighbors are booing Butch Jones and the team - it’s hard not to disapprove Butch due to bias. This is and always has been a rebuilding year, but because of the excessive anger, a majority of our fanbase is making this way worse than it needs to be. I love Tennessee, I love Knoxville and I love the Vols but we have to calm down. This is the same type of reaction when Cuonzo was still coaching and our fans demanded we rehire Bruce Pearl (phew).

When people are posting Currie’s phone number and address to promote firing a coach who’s had us on the rise...? That’s way beyond logical or controllable. We hadn’t scored in 20 consecutive quarters and yet we just scored 2-3 times on offense. Improvement. Though, our offense needs revamping and we need a new offensive line coach. Things WOULD have been ok if our fanbase wasn’t in meltdown mode.

You’re just trolling now

It seems like you're changing the discussion now. You started out with saying fans were overreacting to the loss to Kentucky, and now it seems you're arguing that fan displeasure with the season overall is the issue.

To the original argument, rebuilding or not, a loss to Kentucky is never acceptable. To your revised argument, rebuilding at Tennessee should never involve 5 losses by Halloween.

While accusing fans of overreacting, you seem to be way too forgiving of a coach making $4.5 million, and owning zero responsibility publicly for the abject failure of his football team.

Certain fan reaction may lack tact, but I can't say it is an overreaction to be disappointed with a loss to Kentucky. And despite your accusation that I am "acting like we had reason to be any sort of threat to the SEC", there is no evidence in my post to support that idea. I just can't accept a coach making that much money to provide me with those type results, and take no responsibility for it personally. I see no hope for the future because Butch won't change. You keep believing it will happen if you want, but I'd bet my house you'll wind up disappointed.

It's Kentucky dude; they really aren't that good. You want to know why our offense looked better? Because UK's defense is complete garbage.

The only way I'd agree it's an overreaction is because the fanbase should have expected that a loss was very possible.

Eh, I guess, but it's not like Stoops would be on any big program's list for a job opening. UK is his ceiling, and yeah they are improving but it's like losing 1lb every month type improvement. He still makes extremely questionable calls and seems to play not to lose instead of playing to win. For example, they get the ball with great field position before the half, and should have at least gotten into a FG try. He packs it in and plays for the half. That's idiotic, and UK fans were right to boo because that type of coaching has lost them games under his watch.

Are you honestly arguing Jones should be back next year?

Also let's not forget this coach completely botched an SEC East Divison win last year AND then a trip to the Sugar Bowl, all against teams we should have beaten. If that didn't prepare you that Jones wasn't the person, then nothing will.

Agree. I was convinced at the time that injuries played a large role in that, but I'm not so sure anymore how much it really mattered.
