A lot of y'all overlook the fact that Dobbs and Peterman went up against the 2nd string defense which looked pretty awful. Ferguson did have a bad day but how much better would Dobbs have looked against the 1's??? IMO Worley still gets the starting job because he manages the offense better and makes the right reads both on the read option and in the passing game.

I dont have a "guy" in this race. Ive had this avatar since the beginning of last season. I want the best guy to win the job. I didnt pick a guy that I want to win the starting spot whether he plays bad or not. Dobbs followers want the other 3 to do bad so he starts. The rest of us want all 4 to play good.

1. Don't want to blind side one of our 4 QBs fighting for the job.

2. Probably want to see these guys maintaining their "responsibilities" and such.

I wouldn't put much stock in it being vanilla.

Here is what I don't understand Peterman had a disastrous day vs Florida and everyone was ready to make him transfer. Fergie players disastrous against our defense and everyone is making a million excesses.

What do you expect...he was one of the top two QB's coming out of spring practice...he should be going against the number one defense...Dobbs also went against the ones on one of his scoring drives...while Fergie went against the two's. Stop making excuses..Worley went up against the ones and look at his performance!:cray:

Peterman played a half and only produced like 4 yards and had 4 turnovers.

I loved the format. Loved how the team looked noticeably faster and more aware. Worley and Dobbs had nice zip. Josh Malone was the best receiver. Herd made a good statement even though he got manhandled in the. Circle of life. I really loved seeing the drills. Especially the circle of life. Coach no escape did say if we fill the stadium Al Wilson and Leoanard little will do the CoL drill :-D. Loved the game so pumped for 2014

Gotcha! From reports, ferguson sounds like a more mobile Bray, which would be great if that can translate during the game.

Bottomline i think imo Dobbs won today. I like his potential. i think worley is no better than last year same with peterman. It's between Dobbs and Ferguson.

Not quite. I don't have a real preference, but Ferguson supporters have been pretty insufferable before the kid has taken one meaningful snap.

I am rooting for Worley because he is a senior, who was in Bray's shadow, then played a few games, started to improve, then got hurt. I feel the same way about him as I did for Jerry Colquitt. I really wanted him to succeed in his senior year. His injury still bothers me.

I think that Dobbs and Ferguson have much more time to prove themselves, so I think that they will eventually get their chances. I also wish that Peterman would get a chance at redemption.

I am really impressed with all 4 of these young men as individuals. They seem to be genuinely nice, smart, well spoken, likeable guys. I wish that we had 4 footballs to share.

This honestly was the worst case scenario for butch. Now he will have to re evaluate Dobbs and fergie. If fergie would of came out and blasted our competition he would of got most 1st team reps.

Our OL last year > New OL in a spring game.

...We could do this all day. You are trying to compare a start in a real deal SEC rival game vs. a spring game practice...I'm not buying it. No body who understands football buys it. And I know from you other posts that you understand football. I get your point, i really do. But I think people were more critical of Peterman because they felt he was losing the game for us. Where as Fergie messing up in a spring game is no big deal.

But lets no do this back and forth junk. Blackvolinhawaii is arguing enough for everyone else in this thread.

Everyone knows I'm a Dobbs supporter but I do think fergie played bad because a lot of it was nerves. He never played with 50 thousand people watching.

Could be the number of people. I'm more inclined to think he would be nervous because he thought of it as "his shot" to prove himself. But I agree, I think he showed his nerves. He also had a nice pass get dropped. And that sac with fumble was just a balls out play. No protection what so ever, with a hungry defenseman.

I'm excited bc we have 4QBs that have improved since last year. Good game for them today. I don't have a favorite, just start the QB that gives us the best chance to win.

I'm guessing it will be...

Worley (experienced, leader)

Ferguson/Dobbs (tie, hard to tell, both possible game changers)

Peterman
