The Official "Post your O&W game observations for those of us who can't go" thread

Dobbs and Peterman are also playing against the 2nd team D. Sounds like a huge dropoff in talent from 1st team to 2nd team defense. Sounds like nothing but big plays on 2nd team O. I keep hearing good things about the 1st team D

I honestly was just saying the other day, I actually think our defense is gonna be a lot better this year. AJ Johnson sounds like hes stepping up and having Maggit back is huge. Sutton in his second year will make a huge step, Moseley sounds like a solid freshman corner and we have a ton of more defensive help coming in the summer. I think our defense will be pretty good this year.

People are making huge assumptions about how good Peterman, Dobbs, Pickett and other are. Remember they are playing against the 2nd team defense. I promise you, they wouldnt be doing that against the 1st team. For example, look at how Hurd is performing against the 2s, and then against the 1s. Also the 2nd team has Malone and Pearson and Croom and others playing against the 2nd team DBs. (McNeil, Payne, Jones, ?). The 2nd team O is leaps and bounds better than the 2nd team D. The first team O sounds about evenly matched against the 1st team D. Now im not saying those guys arent good, just be cautious when making predictions and assumptions.

So hungry for good news about our Vols I have to say:

NO WAY. Worley is a no talent bum. The experts here have declared it.

Lol @ everyone thinking this game shakes up the QB competition.

Bray went 5 of 30 a couple years back.

Lol at everyone who thinks it doesn't matter how the QBs play today, the "lineup" will remain the same.

The media sensationalizes things and reports on what they see in a portion of practices and also what they think is most popular. Gotta get the clicks.

Leave the decision up to the wisdom of the coaches.

It doesn't matter the level of your competition, it's how you perform against what's put in front of you and seize that opportunity. Peterman and Dobbs are taking advantage and hopefully have a chance in the 2nd half to compete against the 1st team Defense.

Maybe someone posted earlier:

QB order of series in first half:
- Worley, Peterman, Ferguson, Dobbs
- Ferguson, Dobbs, Worley, Peterman
- Ferguson, Dobbs, Worley, Ferguson

Scoring drives in first half:
- Worley: 1/3
- Peterman: 2/2
- Dobbs: 2/3
- Ferguson: 0/4

So the 2nd team defense gets one stop.... Let's hope we stay healthy on D this year.
