The Official "Post your O&W game observations for those of us who can't go" thread

Ryan Callahan ‏@RyanCallahan247 1m

We're now at halftime of the #Vols' Orange and White Game. The offense leads the defense, 92-71 — whatever that means.

I have little doubt that Worley will be our starter. I'm not sure who will be the backup, Dobbs or Peterman.

WRs looking GREAT. Both lines seem to be doing fine, but the real test will be when they go against OU. Secondary still needs work...

RBs looking good. Hurd is going to be a beast.

Darr is sending out some booming punts.

Nice end to the half for #Vols LB @kingvol38. One sack and another HARD hit on Riley Ferguson on final play.

Ferguson playing with first teams is getting sacked left and right. Makes me wanna blame the inexperienced o line, but why is he the only one with the problem?

You're mistaken, Prof. Wise ones on VN clearly state Worley doesn't have any arm strength. A 50 yard pass, you're mistaken, I assure you.

Must of been a 5 yard dump off that the WR took for 45 yards.

On the radio they said Darr's first punt wasn't very good at all, he looking better now?

Maybe someone posted earlier:

QB order of series in first half:
- Worley, Peterman, Ferguson, Dobbs
- Ferguson, Dobbs, Worley, Peterman
- Ferguson, Dobbs, Worley, Ferguson

Scoring drives in first half:
- Worley: 1/3
- Peterman: 2/2
- Dobbs: 2/3
- Ferguson: 0/4

Attendance figures released?

Someone here said 60k was a generous estimate

Someone on the radio said that last year's attendance will easily be surpassed by today's attendance - based on what he saw moments before the game got underway.

They wanted more than 76k, but it seems to be somewhere between 60k - 70k

Fergy sacked again but picks up 18 yds on next pass to Josh Smith. Hit hard again by Justin King. King putting a whooping on Ferguson. Makes you wonder about the starting offensive line.

Don't forget Justin King is a really good athlete. He ran that wild cat pretty well his freshman year. He's going to be a good at LB. My worry is about our Secondary hoperfully getting Brian Randolph and the increase competition will help. Our O-line will be ok they need time to gel hopefully some work this summer will help.

Appreciate it :hi:

And OU is all excited about their 35-40k. Happens to be on here, wanted to get a little look at them. Switched to the Master's now.

People are making huge assumptions about how good Peterman, Dobbs, Pickett and other are. Remember they are playing against the 2nd team defense. I promise you, they wouldnt be doing that against the 1st team. For example, look at how Hurd is performing against the 2s, and then against the 1s. Also the 2nd team has Malone and Pearson and Croom and others playing against the 2nd team DBs. (McNeil, Payne, Jones, ?). The 2nd team O is leaps and bounds better than the 2nd team D. The first team O sounds about evenly matched against the 1st team D. Now im not saying those guys arent good, just be cautious when making predictions and assumptions.
