Problem is . . . the insurance thing isn't cheap.

I hope he does what he decides is best for him and his family and ultimately ends up earning a ridiculous amount of money. Far be it from me to ask somebody to turn down a minimum 6 figure income in the name of entertaining people for free.

Glad to have you as a Vol, Meach. I seriously doubt you're staying at Tennessee, so best of success in the NFL to you.

I would love to see you stay one more year Meach!!!! with that being said, do you what you need to do for yourself and your family. best of luck whatever you decide

Well stated Mania, It's a gamble both ways. I'm sure Meach has dreamed of this decision a million times. Those millions of dreams are now in $. I trust his way of deciding and should he go, he will take his place along side the other Vol's now in the league. Should he stay 106,000 + will stand and cheer one more year. What ever happens, I for one am proud to have sat in Neyland and watched him and will continue next year in Knoxville or the TV. Good luck Meach we are with you how ever you decide. Thanks for the memories.

Well put. And he has a child to take care of. Do you take an enormous amount of money right now to support that child, or roll the dice and wait another year in hopes of an even more enormous amount of money?

I don't know about his family's situation at all, but I do know that you do what you have to do to take care of that kid. I really really want to see him back next year, but whatever decision he makes, I wish him the best.

look the window is open for onlya short period, nfl money is not guaranteed, meach ought to go if the $ are right, unlike manning who had support and a family well healed. i selfishly would love to see him back, but go for it robert. Go Vols (i hope he ends up in indy!!):salute:

Still most peoples post deal with nothing but money. Money is what makes a life a happy one, huh? Every player in the NFL has contracts worth millions. So why do we see news all the time about NFL players doing things that demonstrate that their life is not everything they want it to be. They have millions that should automatically make them happy!!! Maybe, sometimes, we should consider that life is about more than just money. But, that is not the American peoples mindframe these days. I will step down before my soapbox speech really gets going. lol

Happiness and self fulfillment are great, but - sorry -for a 21 year old with no income and a child, it's about the money. Statistically, he's got about a 3-4 year window of opportunity before he's confronted with the real world. I can't imagine what that decision must be like.

I really appreciate what you are trying to say here, but I think THE most important thing is providing for your children the best you can. IMO, that means going pro for Meach.

I would love to see you stay Meach, but can't blame you for going pro early. I have seen many players in the past come back only to get injured their senior year. Who knows how much money they missed out on.

I would love to see Meachem stay, make more memories for himself and the fans besides a year flies by so fast, he's managed this far without all that money. He's got the talent to be a great wide out in the NFL we all know that and he will be their someday. If he goes I wish him and his family all the best.

There's a big difference in college and the "real world." I had the opportunity to finish in 3 years but stuck around on scholarship for 4 and enjoyed every bit of it. Of course, we'd all love to see Meach stay, and I guarantee that he'd get one heckuva round of applause if he steps out onto the field next September!
