Yeah .. I was still worked up over all those bail outs , especially the ones that didn’t pay it back .

As I recall there were a number of cases where someone apparently cooked the books to make it look like all the loan had been paid back and Obama was a genius. GM definitely comes to mind as one.

Yes, in the case of the bailouts I do. If GM would have been forced to file for bankruptcy like a normal company the stock and bond holders would have at least had a chance at getting some of their money back through liquidation or a buyout. If GM would have been able to come out of bankruptcy they would still have their shares. The bailout robbed them of their legal remedies.

Not surprisingly, your bankruptcy scenario is way off the mark, too.

Common equity holders come in last behind bond and preferred equity holders and the work out plans most always means common stock owners get nothing. Their best option is to trade out while there is a market. The run down is frequently so fast most are left holding that bag too because the market flashes out

I believe I said that they would have a chance at recouping some of their investment, the bailout wiped out any chances.

Re-upping this thread. Have any of the Trump leg-humpers decided to jump ship and move to greener pastures with his latest debacle?

I had forgotten that when Obama took office in 2009, he had to deal with the Swine flu, along with the layoffs and foreclosure mess. Trump isn't in that kind of horror, yet-- but things are not good.

He has fired everyone who seemed to have sense and hired a bunch of butt kissers to replace them. He has lied so much, that nobody believes or trusts his word in a major crisis. The stock market is crashing at an alarming rate.

We have no other choice but to see how he handles this before the election.

Trump may love Trump too much, but at least his critics don't end up MURDERED like Barrack's and Hillary's.

Death of DHS Whistleblower Philip Haney Not a Suicide, Say House Republicans - California Globe

With global concerns being voiced that this deadly coronavirus might be a manufactured bioweapon, this report concludes, its two main targets of China and Iran give unmistakable clues of Deobandi Islam terrorist organization involvement—but who would need state-actor backing and financing to accomplish such bioweapon attacks against their main enemies—a state-actor like the United States—but whose full involvement with Deobandi Islam terrorists may never be known because Phil Haney shockingly revealed to the US Congress and media that he was ordered by the Obama-Clinton Regime to destroy all information linking US intelligence agencies to Islamic terrorists before President Trump took office—and with Haney being recently in contact with DHS officials about a possible return to the agency, as well has his also engaged to be married, it leaves no doubt that he was assassinated

What greener pastures?
Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. Surely a senile career politician whose only noteworthy accomplishment is no noteworthy accomplishments or an old socialist career politician whose own party doesnt want him as the candidate are greener.

...maybe they're moldy???

Unquestionably greener, mold and all.
Not hard to be more appealing than a toxic waste site.

Haney was recently in contact with DHS officials about a possible return to the agency, the Washington Examiner reported, adding that he was also engaged to be married.

In June 2016, Haney testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he alleged that the Obama-era DHS had ordered him to delete hundreds of files about reputed associates of Islamic terrorist groups. Haney made the case that several attacks in the U.S. could have been prevented if some of the files had not been deleted, the Examiner reported.

Writing in The Hill in February 2016, Haney claimed Obama had thrown the U.S. intelligence community "under the bus" for failing to "connect the dots" after a Nigerian Muslim terror suspect was linked to a failed terror plot on Christmas Day in 2009.

"Most Americans were unaware of the enormous damage to morale at the Department of Homeland Security, where I worked, his condemnation caused," Haney wrote, referring to Obama. "His words infuriated many of us because we knew his administration had been engaged in a bureaucratic effort to destroy the raw material — the actual intelligence we had collected for years, and erase those dots. The dots constitute the intelligence needed to keep Americans safe, and the Obama administration was ordering they be wiped away."
