Butch was the one I absolutely did not want. I had him below everyone. I was hopeful that since someone said Roman was interested we'd get him. I'm now behind Butch and hope he can sell this program to some great kids.

I was just giving you a heads up on our little group here sir. And my feelings on your question is that maybe it's because the arky family is more on the same page than ours right now. We got boosters vs boosters vs Ad vs Acedemics BOT going on. It is unhealthy and not conducive to hiring big names imo.:hi:

"On paper" is exactly what I'm referring to. On paper, Gruden is better. On paper, Strong is better. Yet, it's possible that Jones proves better than both, which would be splendid. But, we can't judge possibilities. We can only judge what is on paper. Our AD's, for some reason, have not been capable of hiring coaches with the level of "on paper" profiles as poorly Arkansas and it baffles me. Long must have an executive sales background or something is amiss on Rocky Top.

Bet you a steak dinner that this is a better hire. Gruden is not better on paper because of never coaching in college. I would pick Gruden over Jones 7 days of the week. Something tells me I won't in two years.
