The executive and legislative branches of the Fed. Government had differing philosophies for accomplishing Reconstruction. Discuss these philosophical differences and describe how these philosophies and the policies they spawned shaped the course of Reconstruction between 1863 - 1877.

I am shocked and amazed but yet feel a little sad for you that you would turn to this group for help on this level. Lol

If I am not mistaken, alot of the differences in that time was that a lot of the northern lawmakers wanted to punish the south more than others. Kind of a "to the victors go the spoils" mentality That is a just my vague recollection.

In all honesty, this.

There were several in the Legislative branch that had no inclination to admit the southern states back into the Union until they had paid more than their fair share of pennance. And when I say fair share, meaning not at all since, as Ruck put it, "the victor goes the spoils."
