Mattingly is who I saw listed as the official all-time leader - and I would have never guessed that.

Yeah. This new format is gonna get smoked. New team in AL gets to face the other best team in AL (assuming chalk in wild card round, ie yanks finally beat Sox). Meanwhile, Seattle will get one of the two teams that battled over the 5th and 6th best records in the AL.

The Tigers and Guardians both throttled down in game 162 tied for the division because other than homefield, there was no incentive to win your division.
