The Official New York Knicks Thread.

Afflalo is a nice piece but somewhat inconsistent. Monroe is a great addition. Knicks have a long damn way to go.

2 years (1 plus a player option), $16 million for Afflalo. The Knicks may not have him for long, but that's pretty good value.

Monroe signs with Milwaukee, allegedly because they offered a max and the Knicks didn't.

EDIT: One guy reported that the Knicks didn't offer the max, but now several others are saying they did and got beat out by the Bucks anyway. Milwaukee is "more playoff-ready" than the Knicks, Lakers and Blazers.

Through the first 4 games of the season, Kristaps Porzingis has 40+ points & 30+ rebounds. The last New York Knicks rookie to do this? Patrick Ewing. (via Elias Sports)

Some nice blocks too. Against the Spurs, he looked like their best player before he got hurt.

Never did think too much of Ewing. In retrospect, he wasn't working with tons of help

Ewing was overrated, IMO. He wanted to be Hakeem with a jump shot and he should have tried to be Dikembe. He was good, but his era was so loaded with great offensive pivots, and as much as he wanted to be, he was not that.

I agree with this 100%

Hakeem was better than Patrick but their stats were very similar and Ewing was twice the offensive player Dikembe was.

Ewing turned the ball over a lot more and was not as good of a passer, but otherwise pretty similar stats.

Mutumbo was an underrated offensive player. He was significantly more efficient than Ewing, and his offensive rebounding was a lot better. Ewing should have stayed by the basket.

Mutumbo > Ewing

Ewing was a name because of where he played.

Ewing was ten times the player mutumbo ever hoped to be

Ewing had a season where he avg 28.6 10.9 with 3.99 blocks per game.... He wasn't on the Olajuwon level but was damn close..... He was the Knicks during the 80's and early nineties
