The Official New York Knicks Thread.

I haven't see the Knicks play too much this season, but the bench looked weak. Carmelo predictably struggled a bit, Lin with a mighty impressive stat line.

I think this one is more about D-Will going nuts than it is about Melo sucking. Let's be clear, he sucked, but it's just one game. If Melo is cool with taking 15 shots per game, he'll fit right in.

Melo tried to take more shots but Stevenson was in his face all night eating his lunch.

Shumpert could have helped with Deron but no one had an answer. Lin was clearly spent from playing 40 min the previous night.

Biggest problem with Melo is his influence on STAT. Amare played playground ball last night, just like Melo. Amare single handedly killed the comeback in the 4th by forcing shots from a double team early in the shot clock.

I think Melo took 11 shots to amare's 17 and Lin's 18, unless I am misremembering.

The real problem was Deron doing whatever he wanted.

I thought that at first, but I looked at the box score in more detail. Overall, the Nets didn't shoot very efficiently (17/51 from 2 pt), so the Knicks' D wasn't the issue. The problem is the Knicks were shooting horribly.

Ah, you may be right then. All I had checked out was deron's game, not overall shooting and such.

Many more games to go. If Melo accepts his role, it will be pretty.

Melo is too selfish to take less shots IMO. And I'm talking about one my favorite players here

Knicks' D doesn't have enough range to cover that many shots.

True. Sources say might be the most entertaining tweets in the world to me.

Sounds like Lakers are making a hard push for D Howard. Bynum and Gasol to Magic.

Though I think Howard is a top 3 player in the NBA, I don't know that this trade makes them better (for the near future). Gasol + Bynum = Howard, IMO

The Lakers problem is depth, and this would make them less deep.

Gasol is getting worse not better. The trade is better for the Lakers IMO

Lin has 10pts(3/5) 5asts 3rebs 1to at the half. Knicks still losing by 12 though and were down by at least 17 at one point.

Why am I not surprised that Carmelo returns and a team like the Cavs go into MSG and put up 61 first half points.

But then the Cavs only score 25 points in the 2nd half with only 5 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. That's really bad.

Currently on a 2 game looking skid...gotta go in the other direction and get on a winning streak. The division is there for the taking
