The Official New York Knicks Thread.

61 games huh?

Didn't those LeBron lead Cavs teams win more than that?

The fact is this, teams that play like the Suns did don't win championships, simple as that.

Erik has them playing pretty good D, which is what makes them the best or at least 2nd best team in the NBA right now, I'd say the coach plays a bigger role then you think.

Nope. They only won 50 games that year.

Wasn't referring to that particular year, Cavs Won more than 61 in a year and they were a one man show.

Point is, you are either built for the playoffs or you aren't. Part of that is personnel, part is the style and mentality the team plays.

Up and down, no defense teams don't win championships.

In a very weak eastern conference. Why use this comparison? The Suns were a 3-man show that won 61 games in a very competitive conference.

That suns team was more than a 3 man show. That starting 5 was probably the best in the league at that time. Agree on all other points though.

Jeffries also did a good job against that big Utah front line. Lin is definitely a big plus and is a huge upgrade from Tony Douglass

Lin is turning the ball over a lot, but other than that, his productivity thus far has been great. We should wait and see what he's doing once he's got about 25 games under his belt.

Knicks starting guards are Harvard and Stanford graduates, LOL.

He had 10 assists & only 2 TO in the last game.

Big game tonight with LAL. :crossfingers:

This is why I'll never trust the "experts". Lin went undrafted*, got cut by the Warriors after playing the equivalent of 6 games (284 minutes), and then rotted on the bench for NY. The experts cannot adequately judge talent. If you don't fit their preconceived notions about what a good basketball player looks like (whether skin color, or size, or mechanics), they will underrate you. The jury is still out on Lin. He needs to produce for another 20 games or so before I consider him a legitimate star, but there definitely seems to be something there.

*He said they don't even play 5-on-5 at the NBA tryouts he attended. He said they had it set up for 1-on-1 and 3-on-3, which makes a huge difference if you are PG. How ridiculous is that? He said something like, "I have almost no experience playing hoops that way."

Kerry Keating wanted him as a pg for UCLA and really pushed to get him but could only get a preferred walk on offer to give him.

S'ucktoni has been pressured for a while by assisstants to play Lin but he kept rolling T Douglas out there. Douglas reminds me of Tatum, he'll hit a couple of big shots but overall he's better off being on the bench.

Lin is a huge moneymaker for NY.

Kobe was kinda punking Lin. I hate Kobe so I automatically think it's just because he's jealous of the buzz. I'm watching this one.

Damn! Lin with 9 points and 2 assists in the first 5 minutes. Kobe knows who the hell he is now.
