The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Just a couple of of mid-morning updates:

* Harvick will run 12 races for JR Motorsports next year, 4 races sponsored by Hunt Bros.
* Brian Vickers is out for the rest of the year due to blood clots in his legs.
* AP reporting MWR will be two full time cars, and the #56 will run a partial schedule.

The Vickers part of this could get interesting. It has only been around two years since the last clot that he had. My guess could be that MWR slides Truex Jr. into the old number 55 and gives Vickers a few rides in the 56 to recuperate. IF, and that is a big if, Truex does not already have a deal worked out with Furniture Row. Where this really gets interesting is, according to something I read on Jayski, Rob Kauffman is interested in making his own team which would leave old Mickey footing the bill again. I suppose that is why they call this silly season...

Not to make light of what is a very serious situation but I wonder if this was a bit of foreshadowing that Travis might have a bit of a violent streak?

:good!:
To be honest it crossed my mind and wondered if he has something against women in general.

Oh and by the way, the car above will be driven by Ryan Truex next year.

Martin Truex Jr. has agreed to drive the #78 Furniture Row Chevrolet in 2014.

Sources say the parties came to terms on Wednesday night. A formal announcement is expected next Tuesday.

In his eighth year as a full-time Sprint Cup driver, Truex has spent the past four seasons driving the #56 NAPA Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing. However, MWRs manipulation of the outcome of the Sept. 7 race at Richmond International Raceway and subsequent sanctions from NASCAR resulted in Truexs disqualification from the Chase for the Sprint Cup and NAPAs decision to part ways with the organization at the end of the season.

well, Dega is one of the only races that I look forward to watching every year, with that being said, I had to leave and go to work at about lap 5. Can someone give me cliff notes on what went down?

Someone would be dead.

If I woke up tomorrow and saw that Daytona and Dega were not on the Winston Cup schedule, I would be a happy man. It just isn't my sort of racing. Too much towards creating a big crash, and all but the last 20 laps are meaningless. I bet it is fun to watch live though.

20 laps is a stretch

This sums it up better than I can.

I had McMurray as a starter until yesterday. You think i would learn. No matter, I still took over the overall lead in my league today.

Crap shoot buddy. I had Ambrose earlier today. Glad I decided against it, but it really doesn't matter at Dega. Glad you are running well in your league. I think I dropped at least 70-90 points to TrojPret in the championship. Pretty much kills my hopes.

It was fun while it lasted.
