The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I've really never been a real can of the chase. I prefer the old system which forces a driver to be good for 36 races instead of just 10.

Just watched the Craftsman Truck race. Anytime you see a dillon get dumped it's a good day. Dillon closed the door after the horse was out.

Is it wrong for me to hope they fail?

Who the Dillon's? What is not to love about a pair of brothers who wear cowboy hats and try to act country even though they have had their entire careers planned out from the day they were born?

I don't mind Austin. I don't care for the pudgy one.

I think Ty will be better than Austin before its said and done. Not a fan of either one of them.

It looked pretty obvious after he got dumped that Dillon was crying before the interview. I couldn't help but think of Tom Hanks and that classic line about baseball.

I'm sure granddad would love to put Austin in the car. Ryan Newman could be in contention too.

Austin is getting the former #29 team renumbered #3. Newman will get the #31. Also Juan Pablo visited with the #78 team yesterday.

Is that official? I haven't heard anything for sure about Dillon or the number change.

One report earlier this week had Burton leaving RCR and moving to Swan Racing to drive the No. 30 car.

Swan Racing general manager Bray Pemberton told ESPN on Tuesday that "we haven't even spoken with Jeff Burton."

Burton confirmed he has had "zero discussions" with Swan Racing.

So maybe he's not quite done

No. 2 Lewis Hamilton – $27.5 million – Formula 1
No. 3 Dale Earnhardt Jr. – $26 million – NASCAR

Lewis and Alonso making that paper. Seb needs to start negotiating better. Schumacher was the highest paid person in sports when he was with ferrari.

Danica and dale jr. Money well spent, weirdly.

Funny how joe Gibbs doesn't pay well. Wonder if that factored into Tony's move?
