The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Two drivers have started last and won a Sprint Cup race, but never in a 43-car field. The first time was at Oakland Stadium in March 1954 with Dick Rathman starting 26th in a field of 26. The Second time was in Richmond 1969 when Bobby Allison started 25th in a field of 25. Two drivers have won from 43rd, but the field was larger than 43 cars. In September 1950,in the inaugural Southern 500 at Darlington Johnson Mantz won after starting 43rd with 75 cars taking the green flag. In May 1953 Fonty Flock won at Raleigh Speedway from 43rd in a field of 49.

Wonder what number he'll have? He raced the #70 in his early days and that was the number Gene Haas used before Tony came into the picture. I also wouldn't mind seeing the #97 come back on track either.

I would love to see this trio take on an nWo persona. Smoke is the perfect Hollywood Hogan to the Hall and Nash duo of Harvick and Busch. They even have their own Syxx in Danica.
