I know I don't post here much but I've watched every Cup race for about the last 5 years and a lot of O'Reilly and Trucks. This ****ing sucks. This has shaken me just as much as Kobe's death. Life is so fragile man, we take it for granted every day. Just doesn't seem real.

TIFWIW, my sister is friends with someone in FB (I know) that works at the Kingsport Speedway and posted that his Nascar sources are saying this was tension pneumothorax. Given his recent issues, it does make a lot of sense if that is in fact what it was. But take it with huge grain of salt.

What does this that fast? Meningitis?

My initial reaction was heart attack but I found out he had sinus issues a couple of weeks ago with a cough and sinus infection at Watkins Glen I think it probably went to pneumonia and wasn't caught in time.

So, the Associated Press is reporting Kyle was testing in a Chevy simulator ans became unresponsive.

That leads me to think stroke/heart attack

Man, Nicky Haden died 9 years ago today. He was 35.

I lost both of my favorite drivers/riders far too young.

I wonder if he had something like what took Jim Henson.

More than any other sport, it seems like NASCAR has had to deal with one tragedy after another as far as figures in the sport meeting tragic ends. And not just from wrecks during races.

Honestly, probably the most talented driver in the last 25 years. Hate it for the kids. Losing a parent that young is extremely hard.

I think the hardest thing to see so far has been his son's birthday three days ago and the post his son made on top of the post KB made for his son's birthday.
