They are so dumb. Look at the ratings. They start declining the year after they changed the points to this chase crap. It continued to decline then had a level off till they changed to stage junk with whatever they have now with eliminations and and win and in stuff. I'm not really sure how it is now but I know it's not working.

All they have to do is change it to a full season of points, bonus points only for a win and most laps led. That makes the best driver of the year the champion. Taking away the years consistency is what ruined it. Resetting points is the dumbest thing they can do with a close second being stage racing. Bonus points for being a leader at a point in the race where it doesn't matter at all is goofy. I guess I'm still not watching NASCAR for about the 6th year in a row. RIP.

I grew up on a race track, it really boggles my mind how much I don't care about it anymore, but I really want to.

I think this was the best compromise. I think the way they stagger the points once the chase starts is fair. And all 16 drivers will have a fair opportunity to go win a championship and nobody can just get hot for a couple of weeks and be a champion. Definitely will be more invested in this coming season from a fan standpoint.

I don't see the race happening at all at this point.
Wednesday in that area has forecast rain and snow as well.

It's neat and all to have races at the old short tracks but The Clash should be still be at Daytona and last year's pole winners (plus past Clash winners) like it used to be anyway.

Well, I attempted to tape the race while at the Predators game.
I heard they switched coverage to FS2 with about 40 laps to go so Masked Singer could air at its regular time. Glad a friend told me that part before I tried watching it only to get super annoyed.
It is a real gamble to record a race if it is on the regular broadcast channel.

Ended up not mattering anyway, apparently the power went out (along with Comcast) for about 30 minutes around 5:30 so barely got any of the coverage.
