Also it's hot as hell. They need to reconsider the date. I remember going to the F1 races back in July. It was amazingly hot.

Kyle Busch became the latest driver to win three straight races. As he nears a Chase berth, he can be encouraged that the other drivers to reach Victory Lane three races in a row over the past 20 years wound up finishing in the top two at the end of the season.

There is no doubt that KB is on an amazing streak right now. I'm just not sure how I am going to feel about him making the Chase.

I guess my question is if a driver with a lesser name was in the same situation Kyle was in would Nascar have given them a pass to get in the Chase.

Probably not. All they care about is getting the big names in for the spectacle of The Chase.

What they actually might have done is denied them when they first got hurt and requested a waiver, but once they started winning, NASCAR would have reversed course and changed the rules to accommodate what they wanted.

I think that's my problem with this whole situation. I don't think a lesser named driver would receive the same treatment. We all know Nascar changes the rules to fit what they want.

Given that this format is only two years old, this is consistent with the same opportunities they afforded both Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart.

I doubt highly that this matters if it Kyle Busch or Kyle Smith.

I agree. Though Kurt and Tony are big names as well.

It has been consistent with big name drivers. I just think if it was a smaller name driver on a smaller team they would not be given the same opportunity.
