Gordon is undoubtedly top 5. Earnhardt, Gordon, Johnson are all top 5. Then, you can argue Cale, Petty, and Pearson for the last two slots.

You could argue Petty and Pearson for the last 2 spots? Please tell me this is a joke. Petty is GOAT. I would put Johnson at 2 and Earnhardt at 3. Then comes Gordon and Pearson.

I think it's hard to compare Johnson and Earnhardt since in all reality Sr.'s career was cut short. Now, I'm not saying he would have one another championship but the possibility was there. He was still competing at a high level when he passed and with good equipment.

I guess I am saying the two could be interchangeable at that spot.

The reason I put Johnson at 2 is because of 5 in a row. Even at his best Earnhardt wasn't able to pull that off.
