So, how does this work? Drivers 1-16 are reset based on how many wins? Field cut down to 12 after 3 Chase races? Continues to be cut down until 4 remain for one last race?

I don't understand how they think the fans want this. I guess they want to be like every other sport

Honestly it's just a repackaging of what it's always been.

At this point in the season, there are only so many drivers who have a real chance to win anyway. It's just an excuse to focus on these drivers specifically, dramatize the whole thing and sell some more merchandise.
