The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I've heard some rumors that MWR will attempt to sign Denny Hamlin to drive the #55. Apparently Gibbs has fallen in love with Erik Jones and wants him in Cup soon as possible. Between Kenseth, Edwards, and Busch, Hamlin would be the odd man out.

Hamlin isn't going anywhere. I think they'd let KB leave first.

Hamlin's contract is up at the end of the year, just throwing out what I've heard. Michael and Denny are also great friends off the track as well.

I'm well aware. I just don't see it. To me, Hamlin is probably JGR's best shot at winning the Cup. Kenseth is a close second.

I feel like I've seen this movie before.

Roger Penske must be excited for his 3rd driver in 2019.

Horrible move for Gibbs to dump Hamlin. Heck, Hendrick should pick up Hamlin when Kahne's contract expires.

Hamlin would be keeping the seat warm for Jones though. If I were in his position I wouldn't like that either. Plus Denny's contract is up at the end of the season, he is free to sign wherever he likes. I could see Aaron's deciding to pump more money into MWR if it meant getting a driver like Hamlin as well.

Look at the ripple effects that occurred starting with KB's injury. It possibly resurrected David Ragan's career.

Kevin Harvick is killing it right now in regards to the stagnation of Nascar. Blames it on the schedule, he wants more short tracks and road courses added.

Harvick has every track dialed in. He's a threat to win every week. He was never on this level with RCR.
