The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Also, why is this the weekly NASCAR thread? Why can't we talk about it on a daily basis?

Anyone listen to NASCAR radio? I really enjoy dialed in with Claire b. Lang. You also cannot top Buddy Baker on late shift, that man can tell some great stories. Chocolate Myers has a show too! I wish Larry Mac had a show. People say rotten things about Larry McReynolds, but he is a race winning crew cheif so he obviously knows what he is talking about.

I actually think Michael Waltrip is better than his brother at commentating. That's not a high standard, but I enjoy his childlike amazement with what is going on over his brother's general shouting.

Which makes it too bad he can't talk about it without coming off sounding like an inbred yokel.

Does Eli Gold still do any NASCAR shows? I used to listen to him on a NASCAR show broadcast by a local radio station several years ago. I always enjoyed listening to him.

I used to enjoy listening to Eli when he did broadcast with MRN for a while.

I'd rather see that than the Kyle Larsen interview.
Better get used to it in two or three years he is going to be the next Gordon, Johnson and Bush!

He is 7th (579 points out) in Nationwide standings and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't fighting for the thing by the end of the season.

You misunderstood me. When the interview with Larson was going on in the Hollywood Hotel there was a late model race going on in the background on the track. I meant I would rather the camera be focused on that and SPEED broadcasting it than just another driver interview. I have nothing against Larson, and I believe you are right about him being a future star.

I think it's weekly referring to we talk about the race every week.

I agree with all your comments above except I don't care for Chocolate Meyers.
I only have Sirius in my car so I don't get to listen much.

I was hoping for the other Dillon to win but it was really a cool event. Loved it.

And as far as Tony racing, I think he had way too much on his plate for the first event but I'm sure if this continues ( and I'm sure it will) that he will enter a race in the future.

The place was packed and it looks like fans got their money's worth. :)
