How the hell is NASCARs fanbase only 78% white? Interesting video, and I wish NASCAR the best. One of the issues they have with motorsports as opposed to other sports is that it is not a meritocracy and having money will get you farther than raw talent.
I'm also curious as to how they have run off the white people?
Just long time fans that got fed up with races getting taken away from tracks in the south that were fun to go to and watch in favor of bland mile and a halfers that had almost no merit other than enough seating for all the people that wanted to watch a flavor of the month sport.
Anecdotal. I've talked to plenty of older guys who used to be huge fans that either don't follow it at all anymore or at the very least aren't as interested as they were years ago.

I can agree with that, however I will state that at least one of the tracks removed from the rotation in the South was due to sagging attendance during their hot period in the 1990's early 2000's. But I can understand how fans would have been alienated by the sport's rapid expansion.
I would say that the awfulness that is the Fox/Waltrip family marriage has caused me to pay less attention, I just can't stand to watch an entire race.
God, they are terrible.
I can't believe that older generations of NASCAR fans got to enjoy the knowledgeable and verbose stylings of JACKIE STEWART. Now we get the Darrell and his effeminate brother who can't put together a simple sentence without drooling.
It's just a shame that Rockingham got wiped completely off the schedule and Darlington lost a race pretty much because they weren't selling every single seat. Now we're stuck with all these cookie cutters that are on the schedule for no other reason than how many seats they have and nobody, not even Bristol, sells out anymore.

I also like verbosity. ESPN seems pretty white bread, but occasionally insightful and offers more than background noise. Fox is aiming directly for the lowest common denominator viewer wise.
