The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I'm actually really regretting not going up there today. Tickets would have been dirt cheap, could have sat anywhere I wanted, the race ended up being run at night and has been pretty exciting and traffic would have been a breeze getting back to I-81. Hard to beat all that.

It wasn't worth it. Trust me from somebody who went and left about 630.

Keselowski did the same thing to him. And I'm sure he just wanted to spin him nit flip him. He's not the first driver to retaliate nor will he be the last. It's racing, it happens.

If you're talking about 'Dega that was Carl's fault...

Brad didn't do anything wrong.

A nice guy until you piss him off, which I respect.

I hauled him a couple different times after crashes in Charlotte a few years ago. He was hurting, but still took time to speak to a small child that was getting treatment in the infield care center. Sociable with me as well.

Smoke's a throw back racer and I like that. He is new driver since Mark retired.

What's the dirt on the Hendrick guys? All class acts right? I bet Jeff bought you a hamburger.

Junior was the only one I had any interaction with. He had to come to the ICC after a wreck. He wasn't hurt, just the mandatory visit, but he wasn't in a great mood. Was still polite, unlike Harvick and Michael Waltrip.

On a side note, anytime I worked the suites, I did generally hang out in the Hendrick suite. They always had catered food from some outfit not associated with the speedway. Bacon wrapped filets, twice baked potatoes, etc. It was a corporate suite, but just regular folks that were there watching the races. No big wigs.

I've heard Michael Waltrip is a prick. The biggest prick that I've been told of from a relative is Denny Hamlin. He works in a high level position in racing promotions for Mac Tools and works with all the drivers.

I've heard the opposite about Denny Hamlin.

I actually went to the race tonight. It was a great show. Best racing I've seen in years. If I knew I could watch that kind of racing week in and week out, I'd start watching regularly again.

Impossible. Like old Bristol and stuff will always be better.

It didn't matter.

Thankfully. If it restarted and Edwards lost that race for any reason, I would have been pissed and it would have been hard to convince me there wasn't a conspiracy. But the lucky rain shower came through and no harm was done.

I had to work this morning and I didn't feel like sitting in the cold only to get home at midnight.

Fair enough. I'm off today, just have to drive back to Ft Bragg. I was in layers and my golf rain gear, so I stayed dry. Wasn't ideal, but I could tell I was better off than a lot that chose to stay.
