6 seasons. 3 more including the one we're in now. Technically though, it's only 5 seasons worth of shows total if you go by the standard season being roughly 22-24 shows. The first 3 seasons were, 24, 23, and 22 shows I believe. Seasons 4, 5, and 6 were only supposed to be 16 shows each. That's changed slightly due to the strike, but there will still be 48 shows with either season 5 or 6 or both having one or more extra episodes.

Here's why I believe happened. I think a lot of people began complaining that the writers didn't have any direction for the show. They were just making it up as they go, and there was no guarantee it would ever end. So to show that they did indeed have a complete story with resolution they announced some time last year that there would be 3 more seasons. Why they decided 6 i don't know. I guess they felt it was enough time to tell the story they have in mind.

What is the significance of the name Aaron for Kate's child??? any ideas or thoughts?? he also had blonde hair...interesting.

nevermind...aaron is the name of claire's baby. i'm dumb. i guess kate either stole it from claire or saved the baby from the island or claire died. so many possibilities...why would jack not want to see claire's child, knowing who's baby it is???

The impression that I got was that the only people who survived are the Oceanic 6, which essentially means that Jack is responsible for the death of all the others, including Claire. He feels too guilty to see the baby.

Survived or the only one's to leave the island?? Maybe people are still on the island and only six came back or are made known about. It sounds like the story coming from the 'oceanic 6' is that only 8 actually survived the initial plane crash and the other 2 must have died while on the island before the "rescue"....i can see jack feeling guilty, but what about him being drunk at the airport and desperately wanting to either kill himself or go back to the island?

I get the feeling that Jack and the other 5 left the island under less than honorable circumstances, and the rest of the crash survivors are alive but still on the island. Just from his behavior with Kate, and his conversation with Hurley. I don't want to say they left the rest of the survivors behind, or used them like Michael did to get off with Walt, because honestly Jack hasn't shown any of those characteristics. At least not yet.

Although I haven't seen last night's episode yet so they may have given more insight into the situation for all I know.

It's pretty clear that the Oceanic 6 have been lying to the public about what happened to them, how many survived, etc. Jack's testimony on the stand was a complete lie. What's not clear yet is what happens to everyone else on the island when the O6 leave. My theory that everyone else might be dead is based mainly on the fact that Kate has Claire's baby. I guess there are other possible explanations for that, the main one being that Claire just simply wanted the kid to have a shot at a normal life. I guess the fact that Jack wants (or at one point wanted) to go back would suggest that they're not all dead. Maybe Deeble is right, and it's just a case of dishonorable circumstances - that could explain Jack feeling guilty about the baby too. Who the hell knows. We'll probably find out in the last 5 minutes of the last episode 3 years from now.

I kind of felt that last nights episode was a letdown but they have to set everything up for next week. Next weeks climax looks like it will center around why the helicopter has not made it to the ship already. More questions than answers but thats nothing new!

There is definitely time issues from the island. Last show the scientist had the ship shoot the projectile to the island and it was out of sync by 15 minutes when it finally reached the island. Also the previews has the helicopter getting the boat a day later. The helicopter only had enough fuel to get back quickly.

Something is up between the island and the "outside" world when it comes to time. One of the many things to figure out regarding the island's properties.

found something I found interesting this morning. The book Sawyer is reading in bed is called "The Invention of Morel".

According to WIKI this is the 2003 English Version of the book and is a Sci-Fi book about an island with the main character Morel creating a machine to reproduce reality.

wish I could claim it as my own but there's a site that posts screenshots of the episodes and they found it. I did wonder what the book was since the writers seem to never do anything without a purpose.
