The Official Lakers Thread

I'm not positive, but I think one time recently.

Miami lost the first 2 at the Mavs and rallied to win 4 in a row, but I'm not sure any team has lost both at home and then won a series.

Has a "home team" ever rallied in the playoffs down 0-2?

Three teams have rallied from 0-2 to win in a best of 7 before, not sure if any had home court though. Blazers did it against la in 77, rockets did it to the mavs one year then mavs did it to the rockets the next (90's iirc)

Listening to jh the brick and all the lakers honks last night saying Dallas shooting will cool off. Take it from a blazers fan, it's not. Dirk is completely undefendable from the perimeter without double teaming (something the zen master never does) and they have a score of guys who are unstoppable from the perimeter and/or three. Losing ronron for game three only worsens the situation. The lakers only hope is to get the offense back on track and start scoring a lot of points fast. Could happen, but now they have to go at least 4-1 against a hot jumpshooting team. Don't see it happening.

Cool off? They cooled off last night and won by 12 on the road. Mavs shot 42% overall and 32% from 3 pt, so below league average. And they still won by 12.

You are right, the Lakers have to play better offense, they were even worse shooters than Dallas. 41% and 10% respectively. Their fans' optimistic statements should be more like: "The Lakers shooting will heat up."

The Miami/Dallas series was the only one off the top of my head that I could remember.

Lakers got this one Danny Crawford is the ref. He knows what stern wants.

How do you let Peja drive so you're forced to foul him? Dude is slow and has injury probs. He doesn't miss free throws. Sad.

It's because the Lakers have been exposed for maybe their greatest weakness. They have no defensive athleticism in the backcourt. Any competent guard can dominate that.

Lakers have just played terribly in the fourth quarter in two games this series.

Everything that Gasol has done to overcome the "soft" label since his Los Angeles arrival has been nullified during these playoffs.
