The Official Lakers Thread

They welcome Chicago into Staples tonight. I can't wait to get out of school at 9:30. Duke at 10 and the Lakers at 10:30. Should be a pretty good matchup.

Sounds like fun. One of my top things to do is attend a Lakers game. I couldn't imagine watching at a NBA venue. It's the only pro sport I've never attended.

My buddy takes me to at least one laker game a years. His dads seats are three rows behind visitor bench.

Staples has never appealed to me as one of the great venues in the NBA... Yeah, there's a lot of championships there, but I've never been impressed by the crowd. You want a great NBA experience, save up, buy courtside at a game where the team really matters a lot to the crowd, like San Antonio, Utah or Portland.

I'll probably go with some friends to see both the Hawks and Bobcats this season. I went by Charlotte's arena when I went to see the Panthers play this season. I don't really care for either team, but going to an NBA game is something I want to mark off my list.

on a side note - NBA TV's coverage is horrible. If I never have to watch another Laker game on that channel it will be too soon.

It's awful, but I've had to watch all but three games on the net this year. At least I got to finally watch a game that wasn't choppy and out of sync.

I love Kobe Bryant's b-ball skillz. I don't care if he is a douche in real life, I love watching him play b-ball.

You don't think the lakers matter to the fans?

I was. I started being a Lakers fan during the first championship era with Shaq and Kobe. I was just a little guy, so I just picked a team. I've stuck with them since. Even during the Rudy T years, I stuck it out. Even when Kobe dismantled the entire franchise, I had their back.

Lakers fans have always been fair-weather for the most part. I hardly ever saw lakers flags in la between their title runs.

I have been to Portland a fair amount and never noticed car flags. It's natural for fans to display them more prominently when they are winning.

So cal is nuts about the lakers. People just love to hate them.

I have lived in so cal my entire life except for college. Fans have always loved the lakers. Even during the cedric ceballos days.

The only issue is ticket prices price out a lot of people. If you are in socal during a big game, you can hear people cheering all over the place.
