We certainly can’t do anything to jeopardize Kilen I mean if he’s 100% , I just think that could help our offense and keep Curley at second base , I’d be surprised if Tony makes that move but I just don’t see how we can stand pat with our freshman struggling on offense and defenseIMHO, no way you stick KiLen at SS with a still suspect hamstring, plus he has an average arm and is projected at 2B in MLB. However, Chris Burke has suggested Kilen as a possibility at SS upon his return (especially since Curley has been at 2B lately) so you might be correct. I’d love to see Backus get some ABs as well
Yes. But, on the other hand, consider this:....I think a lot of it is people not realizing how absolutely unusual the last few years have been performance-wise.
Yes. But, on the other hand, consider this:
Today we are 33-7 (12-6 SEC). "Unacceptable," says Henny Penny.
Last year on this very same date we were... checks notes... 33-7 (12-6 SEC). We won it all.
Too many hysteria addicts.
What we really need is a left handed, junk balling, short-term relief pitcher who can fire up the fan base and the dugout with his iron-clad consistency on the bump day in and day out. Feels like forever since we had one of those glue guys. But we are still horrible. We don't have a coach, we can't hold a runner, we can't hit or field or throw. It is a miracle we have won a single game. We have to be in last place in the SEC (What 3rd you say. No way as bad as we are.) I hope we win another game at some point.
Speaking of which, does Kirby throw to our guys in practice? Seems that could really help our guys. What we really need is a left handed, junk balling, short-term relief pitcher who can fire up the fan base and the dugout with his iron-clad consistency on the bump day in and day out. Feels like forever since we had one of those glue guys.
It would be even better if they'd at least give him one at-bat.
He was the best at fielding his position that I’ve seen at TN. Some don’t realize how athletic Kirby was. He hit a few over the porches during the HR derby. He throws at times. He works with LHP's, does the infield work for pitchers on fielding bunts and covering first and backing up first, and gets to hit infield and outfield. I don't know how much full speed live pitching he does now during season. Did a lot this past August and early fall.
