Phillips can get as many strikeouts as he wants but if they are already across 3 innings with 5 hits and two walks, isn't very good

Our defense is what’s keeping Phillips from being at 45 pitches with 2-3 hits across 3 scoreless innings. Grass slip on an easy out for the leadoff batter completely changed the first inning. E6 kept him from being out of the third pretty easily.

Easy may be too polite. Seems to me a little leaguer could steal on Phillips. He's awful and I don't understand why Frank hasn't worked with him to speed up his delivery when runners are on base. Oh well ... let's go offense!
