The official "Jeremy Pruitt has been fired" WATCH THREAD.

Expect an Announcement tomorrow in regards of Pruitt’s dismissal.

With the the NCAA starting to lurk into the investigation, keeping Pruitt would be a disaster, causing more damage moving forward.

Buyout negotiations have already been going on today.

Again, this is just a gut feeling.

  • "It's quiet. Tennessee had COVID testing starting around noon. Pruitt and staff were on campus this morning. Pruitt is scheduled to go to Alabama for his grandfather's funeral. Tennessee is in meetings this afternoon regarding bowl destination. Powers that be (chancellor, president Boyd others) are obviously talking about the on going investigation. That's kind of where I am."
  • "I think it's possible that no decision is made until the investigation is complete. Signing day is over and you have 12 million dollars..."

... we're really going to bring this guy back aren't we?

I think they just want to do due diligence plus the guy is traveling to a family funeral today. Bad timing plus it’s a holiday week which also throws in a wrench. My guess is if there is any chance of them getting rid of him calls are already being made behind to scenes to candidates to gauge interest

I like your optimism but I'm thinking ole JP keeps his Tennessee address for another year or 2. If you think about it, it wouldn't be our way to fire him when we should. Waiting at least a year too long is the Tennessee way

I don’t think they’d come out and say Pruitt is in trouble.

If it’s been quiet, it’s possible buy-out negotiations are happening behind the scenes. Maybe even expressing interest in possible candidates.

Fulmer is probably wanting to play this out peaceful as possible. Let Pruitt go back home and spend time with his love ones, talk business matters later.

They shouldn't fire him until they have a quality name replacement( not another Butch Jones type). The last 3 coaches were just fill in the slot coaches after scrambling to just hire someone.

Since Pruitt came, I've started thinking maybe we shouldn't have been so quick to fire Butch. Surely one of these days we'll get it right.
