The official "Jeremy Pruitt has been fired" WATCH THREAD.

I do not understand the mentality of those who say they want a change but attack posters who get excited about the prospect of a change. You would think people like that would just pack it in and go away. Unless they get some joy from being a misanthrope, I don’t see what’s in it for them to even get involved in the discussion.
Misanthrope? I'm from Ky, don't use words I don't understand, or I'll report you!😂

My wife heard me bitching about the coaching situation and literally said “ Y’all need to get rid of that Butch guy. He’s been there too long. “
Different verse honey, same as the first. We’ve been married nine years and she’s heard me bitching about coaches basically the entire time.

I keep waiting too wake up and this thread with about 3,000 posts about JP fired. Plz let it be so !!!

Forget the results on the field for a moment. UT has had 4 AD's and 3 HC's in the last 10 years (It was 4 AD's and 3 HC's in 7 years when Phil and Pruitt were hired). That alone screams dysfunction from the top down. When you factor in the results on the field, it makes it look even worse. UT is a complete sh^tshow!

That's the main problem I see if UT goes after a big name. They all know what a mess UT is. I don't think money alone is enough to entice a top tier candidate and staff. At what point do you try again? If you swing and miss again, they might as well remove the upper deck in Neyland. It will soon be 25 years since UT won the SEC.!

Its the main reason why "change" is not really gonna be change other than a name.

Since Kiffin, we have fired Dooley and Jones either without a plan altogether or the understanding of whether that plan was viable and workable.
It takes getting a lot of people on the same page to get the right guy.
- AD
- Admin
- Trustees
- Boosters
- Other influential alumni

Of that group we dont have everybody pulling the same direction. And at times they are pulling opposite directions.

Any new hughmors? Has the beav shown up with any info? 😎

I'll check back later...

I think Fulmer will do what it takes to ensure his own survival.
I think Fulmer as figurehead AD is okay/fine for the university, as long as someone else is making the moves (Randy Boyd, Charlie Ergen).

I think Pruitt is sick or being sick, and tired of being tired ... hating being the HC of UT, and is looking for an out in which he can get paid some/most of his buyout and save face at the same time.

I think most of the assistant coaches are about to bolt, which will save us buyout money if we don't keep Pruitt and hire new staff.

I think Freeze wants this job enough to take what we're paying Pruitt.
I think we should make Freeze's contract have little to no buyout if he disgraces the university, but has incentives based upon performance to make him one of the highest paid coaches in the conference, if he earns it.

I think this is the perfect time to make a move.

That's what I think, but what do I know? Nothing. But I feel better having typed it.

Any coach will know they have the university bent over a barrel when it comes to negotiations. We either spend astronomically huge for a proven Coach or vastly overspend for Dooley/Butch/Pruitt per our track record.

I’ve got a feeling that Fulmer hasn’t even considered firing Pruitt. The stubbornness and unwillingness to acknowledge mistakes may end up being the downfall of both Fulmer and Pruitt. In modern college football, successful coaches are typically those that are open to change, take advantage of opportunities to adapt, and aren’t afraid to admit when they were wrong and make the necessary adjustments. Otherwise, the game passes you by, just like it did to Fulmer in the last 5 or so years of his coaching career. And then you have coaches like Saban who have been able to maintain success over multiple decades because they are willing to adapt to changes in the game.
